(My uncle or) Hector was a Flying Officer for The Royal Canadian Air Force. He perished on February 25, 1945, serving his country on the Halifax. From the selfless and unimaginable sacrifices made by all those who served and paid the ultimate price, we today are able to better comprehend the “Solid Foundations and Secure Future” that these heroes were fighting to preserve. Their efforts have indeed been the foundation for our extraordinary freedom and opportunity that we, as Canadians, live with today. We must always be thankful and appreciate everyday what our men and women fought and died for. It is our way of life, our gratitude for them, and the pride we have for both their efforts, and our great country which will contribute endearingly to their lasting legacy. We must always recognize and remember the faces behind these many sacrifices. Our world would be vastly different if it were not for those such as Hector Lochhead and thousands of others who fought for all of us. Hector Lochhead Thank You To All Our Veterans For Their Sacrifices "At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them."
