He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with Squadron Wick in Greenock, Scotland and Bournemouth, England. He was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the 1939-45 Star and the Defence Medal. Frank has been a Life member of Pilot Mound Legion Branch 62 for sixty-two years. WILSON, Humphrey “Toby” WWII Toby was born in Neelin, Manitoba in 1913 and he farmed there until he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) on February 18, 1941. In September of that year, he married Nell Varley of Manitou. Toby was stationed in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and Ladner, British Columbia, as was 3 years with the RCAF Bomber Group #6 in Yorkshire, England, serving as a Leading Aircraftman. Toby was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Service Badge #708520. After his honourable discharge on January 16, 1946, he was transferred to Reserves. He worked at Standard Aero Engines in Winnipeg until his retirement in 1978. Toby was a member of Cartwright-Mather Legion Branch 86 as well as Stonewall Legion Branch 52 for more than 50 years and he passed away in 1998. WILSON, Joseph R. WWII Joseph was born in Whitewater, Manitoba in 1919. He joined the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in Canada, England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He was a member of Boissevain Legion Branch 10. Joseph died in 1993. WILSON, Jack H. WWII Jack was born in Boissevain, Manitoba in 1913. He joined the Army and served with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders in Canada, England and France. Jack was killed in action in Bretteville, France in 1944.
