The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 95 DAHL, Harold WWII Harold was one of ten children born to Alex and Mary (Hallet) Dahl. Harold formed his own orchestra called the “Happy Harvesters” and later played weekly on the radio called Chip Dahl and his C.K.B.I. Ramblers. He enlisted, as did his other four brothers, with the 44th Battery in Prince Albert and served in Canada and overseas. At the end of the war, Harold came back to Canada and spent three months in a Winnipeg hospital with an arm injury incurred when thrown from a vehicle while in the service. He returned to Prince Albert and opened up his own barbershop. He married Alice Berdan and had two daughters. Harold passed away in 1972. DAHL, Hector WWII Hector was one of ten children born to Alex and Mary (Hallet) Dahl and attended school in Winton and in Iranistan. He enlisted in the Navy and after five years of service, he returned home and married Marguerite Blott of Edmonton and became manager of a construction company at White Rock, BC. They had no children. DAHL, William Ernest “Sonny” WWII William was born in Fenton in 1912, one of ten children of Alex and Mary (Hallet) Dahl. He attended school at Winton and Iranistan and enlisted in the Army. He was killed in action on December 23, 1943 and is buried at Moro River, Canadian War Cemetery, Ortona, Chieti, Italy. DAHL, Percy WWII Percy was one of ten children born to Alex and Mary (Hallet) Dahl and went to school in Winton. He enlisted in the Navy serving on the High Seas. He came back to Canada after the war and married Ruth Hawksworth of Vancouver, BC. They had four children. He worked as an electrician until his death in 1978.
