The GeoMemorial Program has been expanded to honour those who have given their lives in the service of the province or country, including members of the Canadian armed forces, police officers, firefighters and emergency response workers. The GeoMemorial Program offers a permanent tribute to these brave men and women along with others who have served our province with distinction and dedication. To date, nearly 4,000 lakes, bays, rivers and islands in the province have been named for individuals who have given selflessly in the performance of their duties.
