The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 89 COOK, John Arthur Stanley WWII John was born on October 18, 1921 on his father’s farm and joined the RCAF in Saskatoon getting his training at #7 Intensive Training School on January 23, 1943. He was enrolled in Flight 56 for airframe training. At 9RD, he was soon placed in charge of his own crew, given an “A” class tool kit and attained his Leading Aircraftsman “A” rating at the first trade board. 9RD was closed in January 1945 and John was posted to 9SFTS, Centralia, Ontario. Upon arrival at Brantford, he was sent on temporary duty to Jarvis, the following day he was recalled to Brantford to receive his farm leave. On his return, he was reposted to #1 Air Supply Unit, Rockcliffe on November 13, 1945. CRAMER, Roland Delloyd SPECIAL AREA DUTY Roland was born in Canwood, SK, in 1945. He served with the Air Force in Egypt in 1978. He received the UN 1978 Medal. CROMARTIE, John G. WWII John was born in Waitville SK, one of nine children to John Robert and Elizabeth Cromartie. He married Lorna Ward and she passed away in 1927. He married again, and had three daughters and two sons. John enlisted in the Army in WWII. CROMARTIE, Edward WWII Edward was born in Halcro, SK in the 1900’s and was one of nine children born to John Robert and Elizabeth Cromartie, who had both been born at Poplar Point, Manitoba and moved to Saskatchewan before 1900. They lived in the Halcro area first and then moved to Waitville in 1915. Edward attended Waitville School and worked around the area. He married Grace Turner and they had one daughter. Edward joined the Army in WWII.
