The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 7 ABBOTT, Leonard Robert WWII Leonard was born on February 12, 1925, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He enlisted with the South Saskatchewan Regiment Royal Regina Rifles on August 5, 1943, and served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Leonard married Comelia McAndie on January 31, 1946. He was discharged on July 13 of that same year. He received the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Commemorative Medal, both from the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, the Honourable Dr. Lynda Haverstock, for service to community and country. ABTOSWAY, James V. WWII James was born in 1910 in Foam Lake, SK. He enlisted with the Army and served with the Regina Rifle Regiment in the United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean and Continental Europe before he was discharged. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, Italy Star, 1939-45 Star, Defence Medal, and the France and Germany Star. James passed away in 1982. ABTOSWAY, Vernon C. WWII Vernon was born in 1903 in Little Current, ON. He enlisted with the Army and served with the 12A District Depot in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe until his discharge. He received the 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star, the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Vernon passed away in 1966. ABTOSWAY, Lloyd A. WWII Lloyd was born in 1920 in Foam Lake, SK. He enlisted with the Army and served with the 16/22 Saskatchewan Horse Regiment. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, and the France-Germany Star. Lloyd passed away in 1965.
