The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 35 BABIUK, Terry WWII Terry was born on July 26, 1926 in Arran, SK. He enlisted with the Army in August 1944 and was discharged in August 1945, after serving in Regina and Vernon, BC. He took a barber’s course but ended up working for C.P.R. in Regina, SK in the claims department for forty-two years. Terry passed away on December 3, 1992. BABIUK, William “Bill” WWII Bill was born on August 29, 1923 in Arran, SK. He enlisted with the Air Force in 1941 and was discharged in August 1945, after serving in France, Germany, Holland and Belgium. After returning from overseas, Bill worked in the Beaver Lumber in Alberta as a bookkeeper. In 1967, he moved to Quill Lake, SK and became manager of Reliance Lumber. He became Housing Manager of Quill Lake Housing in 1977, and held that position for 10½ years. He served as Zone Commander from 1981-83 and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 1944 with the consent of The Legion in Ottawa. Bill passed away on June 21, 2000. BADHAM, Harry Arthur WWII Harry was born in Eston, SK, in 1917. He served as an aero engine mechanic in the Air Force in Canada. He passed away in 2002. He was a member of Nokomis #290 and Pelley #65 Branches. BACON, Russell Hollis WWII Russell was born in Kinistino in 1922. He joined the 420th Snowy Owl Squadron and served in Canada and England. He received the Meritorious Service Award for his 33 trips over enemy territory.
