The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 365 WOHLERS, Arnold H. WWII Arnold joined the RCEME in July of 1941, and served in Canada and then embarked for overseas in 1942, serving in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He was in the occupation force after the war. He was an active Legion member and a member of the Operating Engineers Local until his retirement in 1989. He was married to Florence and raised two sons in Calgary. Arnold passed away on October 4, 1989, and was laid to rest in the Field of Honour Queen’s Park Cemetery in Calgary. WOLF, Julius Frank “Farkas” WWII Julius was born on December 17, 1900, in Bodollo, Abauj Meqye, Hungary. He came to Canada in July 1924, and enlisted in the 101st LAA Battery Canadian (Active) Armed Forces at Moosomin, SK, on October 29, 1941. He was stationed at Regina, Dundurn, Shilo, and Quebec for training. He was shipped overseas to England and later returned to Regina, where he was employed at the armouries in the recording office. Upon his discharge on November 15, 1945, he received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and then returned home to resume farming in the St. Luke district, Whitewood, SK. Julius passed away on February 12, 1978, and was laid to rest in the Whitewood Cemetery. WOOD, William Godfrey WWII William was born in Melfort, SK, in 1913. He was killed in action in 1943, and is buried at Bournemouth North Cemetery, Hampshire, England. He was on strength to # 3 Personnel Reception Centre at the time of his death. Twenty-one airmen were killed by an enemy bombing attack on the Metropole Hotel in Landsowne Square. William had been educated at Derby School near Brancepeth, SK, and was farming there when he enlisted. WOLFE, James Luke KOREA James was born in Muskeg Lake Cree Nation. He enlisted on January 12, 1952, with the Regional Rifles Regiment and the 2nd Canadian Rifles Battalion, serving in Canada. He was discharged on March 16, 1954.
