The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 363 WILLSON, Howard DeTracy WWII Howard was born in Welwyn and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the war, serving in Canada, and after his discharge he returned to farming. He married Marjorie Warren in 1951, and they had two daughters: Sherry and Janette. They sold the farm in 1977, and in 1979, they moved to Moosomin, where Howard still resides today. He has been a member of the Welwyn Branch #112 for 63 years. WILSON, J. H. “Harry” WWII Harry was born on the family farm in1922, the son of James Augustus (Sherwood) and Margaret Maude Wilson. Harry attended Fisher School and in 1942, he joined the Royal Canadian Army Corp and served three years in Canada, England and Europe. Harry married Rowna Urry of Toronto, and they returned to farm at Birch Hills, where they raised four children. They moved to Melfort, where Harry was janitor at Broadway School. Harry is retired and still lives at Melfort. His wife, Rowna, passed away in 2008. WIRTH, Theodor “Ted” WWII Ted was born in Neudorf, SK, on June 21, 1923. He enlisted in the Army on June 7, 1943, and was discharged on March 15, 1945, after serving in Canada, the UK and Continental Europe. He was honoured by the Dutch Government with a medal for participating in the liberation of Holland. Ted passed away on August 14, 2004. WINGFIELD (BROAD), Dorothy WWII Dorothy was born in Wynyard, SK, in 1926. She joined the Canadian Women’s Army Corp, serving in Canada.
