He joined the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps with the rank of Corporal serving in France and Holland. He passed away in 1983. He was a member of the Abernethy Branch #26. WESCHE, John H. WWII John joined the Prince Albert Volunteers on December 29, 1942, and served in Canada. He was discharged on May 25, 1946. John remained single and farmed after the war. He passed away in 1980. WHITE, Owen Walter SPECIAL DUTY AREA & PEACETIME Owen was born in Oxbow, SK, on December 14, 1961. He joined the Canadian Forces on August 30, 1979, and trained as a Weapons Technician (Land) MOC 421. He went to CFB Cornwallis, NS, for basic training and CFB Borden for trades training. During his career, Owen served in CFB Shilo, MB, CFB Borden, CFB Petawawa, CFB Chatham, and CFB London. He also served in Bosnia and received the Canadian Forces Peace Service Medal and Bar to his CD to signify more than 22 years of service. A lot has happened to Owen in 24 years, and he would like to say, “It was truly an honour to serve my country.” WESTVELT, Lenard Olaf WWII Lenard was born in Ratcliff, SK, in 1920. He joined the Army as a signal man, serving in Canada and England. He passed away in 2007. He was a member of the Lintlaw Branch #23 for more than 60 years.
