The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 339 TRELENBERG, Viola Laura PEACETIME Viola was born in Fenwood, SK, on June 8, 1934. She enlisted with the RCAF on October 5, 1952, and served in Canada and Germany, and received the NATO Medal for her service. She married M/Cpl. Emerson Lorne Rodgerson in 1956. She was discharged in October 1955. TROESCH, Martin Charles KOREA Martin was born in Edam, SK, on June 21, 1930. He enlisted with the 2nd Battalion PPCLI in June 1950 in Calgary, and served in Korea from November 1950 to December 1951. While in Korea, his battalion received a unit citation from the President of the United States for their gallant effort in defending a hill in the Kapyong Valley. Recently, he was awarded the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal for his volunteer service in The Royal Canadian Legion and his service in Korea. Martin is married with three children. TURNER, C. Gordon WWII Gordon was born in Moosomin, SK, in 1907. He joined the RCOC No. 2 Platoon-1 Coy, serving in Canada. Gordon passed away in 1999. TRUSTY, Floyd WWI & WWII Floyd was born in Shellbrook, SK, in 1912. He joined the 14th Canadian Light Horse, 8th REECE at Prince Albert on February 14, 1941, and took his basic training at Farnham, QC, and was on board ship in June 1941, landing in Scotland on July 1st. He was a fireman from July to November, and went to a hospital for seven days, and then sent on a cooking course to get his certificate “B” Class. His ship, the Cindese, had 5,000 troops and was considered a small ship to some.
