The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 331 THOMPSON, Lloyd Victor WWII Lloyd was born on November 13, 1918, in Carlyle, SK. He enlisted with the Canadian Army on January 11, 1941, and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until his discharge in December of 1945. He received the following medals: France - Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, Defence Medal, 1939-45 Star, and the War Medal 1939. After the war, he returned to Carlyle and took up farming. He was a member of Carlyle Branch #248 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 42 years, before he passed away on June 18, 2008. THOMPSON, Robert H. WWII Robert joined the Air Force 428 Bomber Squadron and served in Canada and England. THOVESON, Clifford A. WWII Clifford was born in Overland, SK, in 1915. He joined the 16/22 Saskatchewan Horse CA and served in Europe. He passed away in 1978. THORSTEINSON, Thorstein “Stony” WWI Stony was born in Yorkton, SK, in 1895. He enlisted with the 188th and transferred to the 46th Battalion, serving in England and France. He was killed in action while serving with the 46th Battalion on April 10, 1917 at Vimy Ridge, and is buried at Villers Station Cemetery, Villers-au-Bois, France.
