The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 305 SIMMONDS (JONES), Enid May WWII Enid was born in Wales in 1923. She joined the British Air Force WAAF in 1942, and served in the UK, Gloucester, Compton, Bassett, Pembray, and South Cerney. She returned to farm with her husband, John, at Speers. Enid passed away on May 14, 1999. She was a member of Speers Branch #116 for 54 years. SIMMONDS, Robert WWII Robert was born in North Battleford, SK, in 1926. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944, and was discharged in 1945. He joined the RCMP and became Commissioner and retired in Ottawa, Ontario. SIMPSON, James Robert WWII James was born in Loon Lake, SK, on January 18, 1925. He enlisted in the 8th RECCE on October 16, 1943, serving in Canada, England and Europe. He was discharged on March 3, 1946, and went back to farming. James passed away on January 17, 2000. He was a member of Loch Lake #165 for 42 years. SIMONSON, Alfred Walter WWII Alfred was born in Glenside, SK, in 1922. He joined the Signals Corps in the early 1940s and trained at Wainwright, AB, Aldershot, NS, and Nanaimo, BC, and was sent to Jamaica in 1944 as a Peace Keeper. He rode mostly on motor cycles. Alfred passed away in 1994.
