The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 303 SIGURDSON, Bjorgvin WWII Bjorgvin was born in Iceland on November 3, 1901. He joined the Army and served in Canada, achieving the rank of Lieutenant. SIKORSKI, Charles Paul WWII Charles was born in Ituna, SK, on November 16, 1919. He enlisted in the Canadian Artillery in 1942, and served in Regina, Tofino, Kingston and England. He was discharged in 1946. He was a member of Kelliher Royal Canadian Legion Branch #219 for 29 years. SIMMONDS, John Percy WWII John was born in North Battleford, SK, on October 7, 1922. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1942 as a pilot with 437th Squadron, serving in Bournmouuth, South Cerney, Leicester, Croydon, Basingstoke, Brussels and Germany. He was discharged in 1945, and received the War Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and Overseas Medal. After his discharge, he farmed on the family farm. John passed away on June 20, 2001. SILCOX, Harold Clifford WWII Harold was born in Sheddon, ON, on February 10, 2012. He enlisted with the Army in March of 1940, and served in Canada and England during World War II. He was wounded in the Dieppe Raid on August 19, 1942, and returned to Canada in late October of 1942. He was honourably discharged in 1943. Harold had been a member of Carlyle Branch #248 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 34 years before he passed away on November 3, 1980.
