The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 219 LYALL, William Pascal WWI William was born in Scotland in 1871. He immigrated to Canada and lived in Ontario for a time and then moved to Saskatchewan and enlisted in the Army in WWI and was wounded in action overseas. He returned to his homestead and lived there for the next 50 years, and then moved to St. Louis until his death in 1961. LYONS, Earl WWII Earl was born in Brancepeth, SK, in 1922. He joined the Royal Canadian Dragoons on January 18, 1943, and landed in the United Kingdom on August 28th that year. He left England on October 25th and landed in Sicily on November 2. Fourteen days later, he was wounded (burned) and was discharged from the Army. Earl passed away in 2004. LYONS, Miles WWI Miles was born in St. Clements, Manitoba, around 1870. He was a volunteer in the rebellion of 1885. He emigrated to Saskatchewan and homesteaded in the Brancepeth district. Miles married Victoria Taylor and they had a family of ten children. In 1917, he enlisted in the Army at The Pas, Manitoba, and served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Canada, Britain and France. He was awarded the British War Medal, the Victory Medal, and was discharged on March 10, 1919 at Winnipeg. Miles passed away on September 4, 1919. LYONS, George WWI & WWII George was born in Birch Hills, SK, on December 12, 1892. He joined the Canadian Army. George passed away on July 19, 1981. He was a member of The Legion in British Columbia.
