The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 209 LEMON, Henry Walter John WWII Henry was born in Kinley, SK, on December 14, 1917. He joined the 67th L.A.A. Battery RCA, serving in the UK, France, Poland, Germany and Holland. He was discharged on January 4, 1946, and received the 1939-45 Star, the France-Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the CVSM and Clasp. Henry returned to the Ardath, SK, Where he farmed. He married Lena McAdam in October 1946 and raised five children. Henry passed away on March 2, 1979. LEONTOWICH, Frederick Theodore WWII Frederick was born in Ituna, SK, on February 20, 1918. He enlisted under the National Resources Mobilization Act in 1940, and served in Canada and the West Coast. In 1944, he volunteered and served as a test subject in an experimental station in chemical warfare laboratories in Ottawa, Ontario. He was discharged on January 30, 1946. LEWIS, Barnard “Barney” WWI Barney was born in 1895, and came to Birch Hills from Chicago in 1907 to join his uncle Barnard Saunders who was homesteading in the Fisher district northwest of Birch Hills. The Lewis and Saunders families had originally come from Wales. Barney enlisted in WWI, and came back to farm. He married Louise Orton in 1924, and they raised a family of five children on the farm. Barney passed away in 1977, and Louise passed away in 1979. LEVEILLE, Victor P. WWII Victor was born in Alida in 1918 and joined the Army. He has been a member of the Outlook Branch #262 for 33 years now.
