He joined the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic serving in Canada. He passed away in 1973. He was a member of the Harris Branch #361. LAING, Stuart Robert WWII Stuart was born in Dilke, SK, in 1921. He enlisted in the Canadian Army with the 13th Field, 44th Battery C Troop overseas in 1942, and took his basic training in # 2 Coy, Maple Creek. In 1943, he was transferred to radio wing in Kingston, ON, and in June 1943, to C.A.T.C. in Shilo, MB. He went overseas in September 1943 to England and landed in France on D-Day and saw service in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany with the 13th Canadian Field Regiment as a gunner. He received his discharge in 1946. He was a member of the Bethune Legion #303. He received the Dutch Medal of Remembrance. Stuart passed away in 1995. LANOVAZ, Raymond WWII Raymond was born in 1921. He joined the Army and served in Canada, the UK and Continental Europe. He received the 1939-45 War Medal, the CVSM and Clasp, the Defence Medal, the France-Germany Star, and the 1939-45 Star. LANGLEY, William Stephen “Bill” WWII Bill was born in Saskatchewan in 1919. He enlisted as a navigator with the RCAF Beau Fighter 404th Squadron in 1941, serving in Canada and Europe. He was discharged in 1945, and went teaching and retired in Speers. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, and the Defence Medal. William passed away on January 1, 2001. He was a member of the Speers Branch #116 for 37 years.
