The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 183 ISMOND, Ken PEACETIME Ken was born in Broadview, SK, on April 25, 1942. He joined the RCEME in Regina on March 22, 1962, and did his basic training in Edmonton and Wainwright, then trades training in Kingston. He served in numerous locations in Canada, and toured the Middle East with the UN Emergency Force, and in Germany with NATO. Ken was awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration with 10-year Clasp, the NATO Special Service Medal, the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, and the Emergency Force Middle East Medal. He retired from the forces in 1987, and worked at the Underwater Test Ranges in Nanoose, BC, until 1996, and then moved back to Broadview, where he now resides. Ken is a member of Branch #248 Broadview Legion with the duties of Sergeant at Arms. JACKSON, Sidney Henry WWII Sidney was born in Speers in 1918. He enlisted with the Air Force in 1942, serving in Canada. He was discharged in 1946 and received the Canada Defence Medal. He passed away on December 14, 1982. He was a member of the Speers Branch #116 for 35 years. JALBERT-FALUDI, Christine PEACETIME Christine was born in Ste-Germaine Boule, Quebec, in 1957. She joined the military at age 17 and completed her basic training in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, and took an English course, then went on to CFB Borden for her supply technician training. She was transferred to Chilliwack, BC, and served with base supply and then with the CE section. While in Chilliwack, she met Cpl. S. Faludi, they were married and lived on base. Christine left the regular force in 1977 and started a family. She still served in the Canadian Reserve until 1980 as an administration and finance clerk. They now both live in Delisle, SK, and own their own business. JACOBSEN, Melford WWII Melford was born in Pekin, North Dakota, USA on August 17, 1918. He enlisted in the Army with the 31st Reconnaissance Regiment in 1942, serving in Canada, the UK and Europe. He was discharged in 1946, and received the Defence Medal, and the CVSM. He passed away on December 10, 1995. He was a member of the Speers Branch #116.
