He joined the C.E.F. 68th Battalion serving in England and France. He was killed at Vimy near the end of the War in 1918. HESSDORFER, Leo John WWII Leo was born in Wakaw, SK, on July 14,1923. He served with the 8th RECCE as a Sergeant serving in Germany, Holland, Belgium, France and Canada. He was awarded the military medal for gallantry and distinguished conduct during the Bielen Battle. Leo passed away in Cudworth, SK, on May 23, 2000. He was a member of the Wakaw Branch #195 for over 20 years. HINGTGEN, Clifford Theodore Frank WWII Clifford was born in Ogema, SK, on November 27, 1925. He served in the Navy on the Micmac and was on it when it went down. He spent some time in the sea before being rescued. Clifford passed away on June 10, 1995. HIGHLAND, Alexander Purcell WWI Alexander was born in London, England, and enlisted with the 195th Battalion in March of 1916, serving in France and Belgium. He was discharged in April 1919, and received the Military Medal, the Victory Medal and Great War Medal and the King & Queens S A. He was a member of the Earl Grey #137 Branch.
