The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 153 HAMPSON, Thomas WWI Thomas was born at Loppington, Shropshire, England, on December 9, 1889, and migrated to Canada in 1911. He joined the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry as a member of the Saskatchewan University Company on July 28, 1915. He was wounded on May 21, 1916, and stricken off strength from the PPCLI Regiment. He was then reassigned to the 7th Brigade Machine Gun Company on October 13, 1916. Thomas was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal #22 for action on March 28, 1918. Returning to Canada, he farmed in the Birch Hills area and married Edith Jones on November 28, 1923. Their son, John, was born in 1924, and a daughter, Rosemary, was adopted in 1934. Tom passed away in 1968. HANBERG, Anne Fritz WWII Anne was born in LaCrorey, Alberta, in 1926. She joined the CWAC Victoria serving in Canada. She received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Anne passed away in 2007. HANDBERG, Julius Karl Jensen WWII Julius was born in Denmark on July 22, 1894. He joined the Army and served in England. He passed away on August 12, 1968. HANBERG, Leslie Alfred WWII Leslie was born in Weldon, SK, in 1920. He joined the service on February 5, 1942, serving in Canada. He was discharged on April 8, 1946. Leslie passed away in 1988. He was a member of the Brancepeth Branch for over 30 years (now closed).
