The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 137 GISLASON, Siguadur Palmason WWI Siguadur was born in Steinholti, Iceland, in 1894. He joined the 108th Battalion in Winnipeg, serving in Canada, England and France. He passed away on April 9, 1917 at Vimy Ridge. GISLASON, Victor WWII Victor was born in Leslie, SK, in 1921. He enlisted with the 1st Canadian Infantry Troops in 1942 and went overseas with the 12th Manitoba Dragoons serving in Canada, Britain, Sicily, Italy, France, Belgium and Holland. He received the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the France-Germany Star, the 1939-45 Defence Medal, the Voluntary Service Medal and Clasp, the 1939-45 Service Medal, the Thank You Canada (1945), the Thank You Canada Medal, and Allied Forces Medal (1945-2005). GLOVER (JOHNSON), Mary Louise PEACETIME Mary Louise joined the Army in 1972 and took her basic training at Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. She took her training as a Financial Clerk in Borden, Ontario. She left the Army in 1973, was married and raised two children. She was widowed in 1999, and later remarried. She now owns City View Denture in Swift Current. GLENVILLE, Stewart WWII Stewart was born in Little Current, Ontario, in 1904. He left Foam Lake on August 1943 for Camp Borden. Stewart had five brothers who served overseas in the Army. Stewart passed away in 1998.
