The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 125 FITZPATRICK, Marvin L. WWII Marvin was born in Saskatoon, SK, on November 11, 1919. He and enlisted with the Army signal corps on May 20, 1944, and served his country as a troup sergeant. He landed in France on D-Day and took part in the liberation of France, Belgium and Holland. After his discharge on November 6, 1945, he farmed and drove a school bus in the MacDowall area. Marvin passed away on May 12, 1992. FJOSER, Alden M. WWII Alden was born in Francis, SK, on August 3, 1925, and joined the Canadian Infantry Corps in April 1944, serving in Canada and England. He was discharged in August 1946, and married Bernice in 1948. They had four children. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the 1939-45 War Medal. He retired from SK Power in 1987. Alden and Bernice live in Regina. FJOSER, Vernon Cecil WWII & SPECIAL DUTY AREA Vernon was born in Lang, SK, on September 11, 1923. He enlisted on May 22, 1943, in the CIC, and was discharged on February 16, 1946. He reenlisted on June 15, 1948, with the RCE and was discharged on November 26, 1972, after serving in Canada, the UK and Northwest Europe. After his retirement, he was employed by CFB Calgary and spent time at Experimental Station, Suffield for two months. He received the 1939-45 War Medal, the France-Germany Star 1939-45, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the Canadian Forces Decoration. Vernon passed away on September 12, 1975. FJOSER, Howard Raymond WWII Howard was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on December 3, 1921. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on September 18, 1939, and served in England, Italy and northwest Europe with the Royal Canadian Engineers. After returning to Canada, he served at a number of military establishments cross the country. He also served with the United Nations Emergency Force in Egypt. Howard finished his military career in British Columbia, retiring as a Master Warrant Officer in 1972. He received the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the FranceGermany Star, the Defence Medal, the CVSM, the United Nations Emergency Force, and the Canadian Forces Decoration Special Service Medal. Howard passed away on June 2, 2003.
