The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 115 EVANS, T. Douglas WWII Doug was born on June 16, 1927 in England. He moved from England with his parents at a very young age and received all of his education in Saskatchewan at the Carlyle School. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943, and served on the HMS Duke of York, HMS Norfolk, and the HMCS Ontario until his discharge in 1945. Doug is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion. EVANS, Willard George WWII Willard was born in Hagen in 1918. He joined the Prince Albert Volunteers and transferred to the Queens Own Camerons serving in Canada, England and France. He received the 1939-45 Star, the France-Germany Star, the 1939-45 Volunteer Service Medal, the King George VI Voluntary Medal, the Indiae Imp: George VI GBR; OMN; Rex ET. Willard passed away in 2004. FAGRIE, Harold WWII Harold was born in Birch Hills, SK, in 1919 and joined the Queens Own Highlanders serving in England and France. He was killed in action on July 24, 1944, at St. Andres-sur-Orne and is buried at Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery near Revediers-Calvados, France. EWART, David Alexander WWII David was born in St. Boswell, SK, on April 24, 1923, and enlisted with the Army in December 1941, serving as a loader operator in B Squadron Calgary Tanks, 1st Canadian Armoured Brigade in Sicily, Italy, and Northwest Europe. He was discharged on January 28, 1946. Following the war, he attended the University of Saskatchewan graduating with a BSA degree. He resides with his wife, Bertie, in Regina.
