The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 99 DICUS, Russell WWII Russell was born in Leask, SK on September 12, 1926 and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on May 31, 1944 in Saskatoon, SK, training in Regina, Prince Albert, Calgary and serving in England as a Postal Clerk arriving there on December 25, 1944. He was discharged in Regina in July, 1944. Russell has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 34 years. DIEHL, William Hubert “Bill” WWII Bill was born in Aldina, SK on May 21, 1915. He enlisted with the Army Service Corp in 1940 in Saskatoon, SK, training in Canada as a heavy duty mechanic and serving in England, Holland, France and Germany. He had many service medals and was discharged in 1945. After returning to his home in Marcelin, SK, he continued farming. He did a lot of hunting and trapping. Bill was a dedicated member of Leask Branch # 79 of The Royal Canadian Legion before he passed away on June 15, 2004. He is laid to rest in the Marcelin Cemetery. DIX, James B. WWII James was born in Biggar, SK in 1922 and joined the 4th Field Regiment Second Division in 1942 landing in France in 1944 and serving in Belgium, Holland, France and Germany. He returned home to Canada in 1945 and demobilized in 1946. DILCOX, Walter S. WWI Walter enlisted with the RCAF in December of 1942 and trained as a bomber and navigator on the Tiger Moth and Mosquito Bombers in Britain and Europe. He was discharged in September of 1945.
