Military Service Recognition Book 448 ONTARIO COMMAND SERGEANT, William A. “Bill” Bill was born on December 10, 1953 in Tillsonburg, ON. He graduated from RMC with a BEng (Mech) degree and was a qualified Aerospace Engineering Officer in the CF. He has served four NATO tours in Germany, one at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, and one at the UK Joint Services Command and Staff College as an instructor. He has been responsible for the maintenance of the CF-104 Starfighter, the CF-101 Voodoo, the CP-140 Aurora and the CF-18 Hornet aircraft during his forty year career in the Regular and Reserve Forces. He held command twice, once in Cold Lake at 10 Field Technical Training Squadron and as the Commandant of the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering in Borden. He is a distinguished member of Canada’s Order of Military Merit and was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his active involvement as a volunteer in numerous local, national and international organizations. SHEPHERD, Robert G. Robert was born in Ridgetown, Ontario on January 5, 1933. He joined the Navy on April 29, 1952 and served on the USS LSMR 536 Gun Boat during the Korean War. He was discharged on April 20, 1956. He was awarded the Meritorious Mass and Two Battle Stars. Robert has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for 40 years. SHEPHERD, Delbert T. Delbert was born on September 10, 1931 in Ridgetown, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in 1952 and served with the Princess Own during the Korean War and was discharged in 1953. Delbert passed away on July 9, 1953.
