LEST WE FORGET 91 GLEADOW, Norman Alfred RCMP Norman enlisted on October 1, 1931, and served in the RCMP F Division. He passed away on October 11, 1939, in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, at the age of thirty. Cst. Gleadow received the RCMP Commissioner’s commendation “on devotion to duty”. GORDON, Bryan William RCMP Bryan was born in Prince Rupert, BC on September 2, 1953. He was sworn into the RCMP in Lethbridge, Alberta on January 22, 1973, by Officer Commanding Lethbridge Sub-division Inspector Glen Gordon, his father, and did recruit training in Regina, Saskatchewan. He was posted to Fernie Detachment in Fernie, BC in 1973; Rossland Detachment in Rossland, BC in 1974; Kimberly Detachment in Kimberly, BC in 1975; Haney Detachment in Haney, BC in 1976. In 1977, he was posted to Chilliwack Township in Chilliwack, BC which was amalgamated in 1978 with Chilliwack City Detachment to become Chilliwack Detachment. Duties included general duties, Detachment Reader, Property Crime Detail, and General Investigation Section (GIS). He was promoted to Corporal, Detachment Commander Anahim Lake Detachment, Anahim Lake, BC in 1989. Bryan transferred to Osoyoos Detachment, Operations NCO in Osoyoos, BC in 1991 and Bella Bella Detachment, Detachment Commander in Bella Bella, BC in 1993. He was promoted to Sergeant Detachment Commander in Bella Bella in 1994 and transferred to Merritt Detachment, Operations NCO in Merritt, BC in 1995. In 1998, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant while in Merritt. He was transferred to Nanaimo Detachment, Watch Commander in Nanaimo, BC in 2001 and to West Coast Marine Services (WCMS) in 2006. Bryan retired on July 29, 2009. He received the Royal Life Saving Society Medal of Merit awarded for a water rescue, M. G. Griffiths Award, and Long Service Medal with Gold Clasp (35 years).
