LEST WE FORGET 89 FORD (GRIFFITH), Margaret Merle WWII Margaret was born in 1925 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and joined the Women’s Army Corps in July 1942. She served at various stations in Saskatchewan and Alberta ending up in Vermilion, Alberta. She served in Canada until her discharge in July 1946. She married Russell Ford in May 1947 and raised a family of five boys and three girls. Margaret passed away in 2004 in Aldergrove, BC. GERMAN, Bernard John WWII Bernard was born in 1918 in St. Walburg, Elbow, Saskatchewan. He served from September 1939 to September 1945 as an Army Medic with 5th Field Ambulance of Montgomery, Lance Corporal 8th Army. Bernard passed away in 2011. FOWLIE, James WWII James was born on September 22, 1922. He enlisted with the Army on October 27, 1942. He served with the 18th Armed Car Regiment as a Section Leader in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany until his discharge on October 24, 1945. He was also a Pacific Volunteer. James received the following medals: Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, Defence Medal, King George, and France and Germany Star. After the war he married, farmed, and worked in the bush until he moved to BC. James is deceased.
