LEST WE FORGET 85 FIELDS, Patrick WWII Patrick joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in the early 1940’s and served until he was discharged in 1945. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion Pelly Branch and later moved to Manitoba. Patrick passed away July 13, 2003. FISHER, Joseph WWI &WWII Joseph was born in 1893 in Michel, NWT. He served with the 5th Canadian Infantry Battalion in France. He received the Distinguished Conduct Medal “For showing conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in charge of a platoon” and the Military Medal for “showing great courage and gallantry”. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Duck Lake Branch. Joseph passed away in 1962. FISHER, Clarence Andrew WWI Clarence Andrew Fisher was born on December 1, 1895, in Novar, Ontario. In 1905, the parents, Lyman Tobias and Rosanna (Dafoe), moved to Bounty, Saskatchewan where they raised their five children: Vera, Douglas, Lyman, Hazel and Clarence. The children attended a nearby one-room school called Glenhurst. Clarence enlisted in Bounty on May 24, 1916. He had a pre-existing medical condition, a spinal sprain from heavy lifting. Although he was declared fit by the local doctor, the injury proved to be too difficult and he was unable to go overseas. Clarence was discharged in Regina on January 7, 1918 when he was unable to perform even light duties. He returned to Bounty until 1931 when he moved to Saskatoon. Before moving to the city, he was a member of the Ardath United Church Choir. In Saskatoon, he was employed at the Saskatoon School for the Deaf and later at the Federal Building in downtown Saskatoon. He and his wife Minnie (McArthur) had three sons and three daughters. Clarence Andrew Fisher passed away on Thursday, December 19, 1963, at the age of 68.
