LEST WE FORGET 71 CLAPSON, Fredrick Earp “Eric” WWII Eric was born on October 10, 1900. He married Muriel Ramage in 1925 and they raised two sons. They were in Ridgedale from 1936 to 1939 and then moved to Camrose, Alberta, where Eric joined the Army. After being discharged, he went into the garage business with his brother, Len. Eric is now deceased. CLOSE, Stanley W. WWII Stanley was born in Parkside, Saskatchewan in 1909. He joined the Prince Albert North Battleford Volunteers and took his training at the west coast until his medical discharge in 1944. He passed away in 2002. CLARK, John Foster WWI John, a farmer from Bounty, Saskatchewan, served with the First Depot Battalion of the Saskatchewan Regiment. He was born on October 31, 1895 in Toronto, Ontario. His parents were Thomas James and Mary Clark. Thomas was employed by the Toronto Police Force. The couple had three children: Fred, Foster and Ethel. He came west with his brother Joe in 1904. Once he had built a house on the homestead, he returned to Toronto and brought his wife and children to the Bounty area. Foster had attended elementary school at Ryerson before coming west with his parents in 1906 to their new farm home near Bounty. He finished his education at nearby Glenhurst School, a one-room school, and at an early age joined his father on the farm. He enlisted in Regina on June 8, 1918, at the age of 22. His service was all in Canada. He received his discharge on February 19, 1919. He married Jean Thompson Stangoe in 1938. The couple had five children: Thomas who died in infancy in 1941, Foster Jr. (1941), Greg (1942), Brad (1944) and Shelley (1945). John Foster Clark was a well-known local musician who played at many community dances. He was a member of the Glenhurst School Board for many years. He passed away in 1977 and is buried in the Fertile Valley Cemetery. His wife Jean died in 1989.
