WOTHERSPOON, Albert Edward WWII Albert was born in Langenburg, Saskatchewan, on January 1, 1925. He joined the #103 Squadron Royal Air Force - Air Gunner as a pilot officer. Albert was on a final mission in a Lancaster Bomber over Germany when his plane was shot down on March 17, 1945. He was on a night raid on Nuremberg. He is buried at Durbach War Cemetery near Bad Tolz Germany. The province of Saskatchewan named a lake in northern Saskatchewan after him: Wotherspoon Lake. WOOLARD, Robert Andrew WWII Robert was born in 1918 in Regina and received a BA from the University of Saskatchewan before he enlisted in the Army in Saskatoon in 1940. Lieutenant (South Saskatchewan Regiment) Robert Andrew Woolard, of Star City, was killed in action on August 19, 1942, in Dieppe and is commemorated on the Brookwood Memorial near London, England, for those who died during raids on the continent, etc. and who have no known grave. He was the son of Charles Robert and Helen Woolard, Charles practiced law in Star City and later moved to Melfort.
