WEEDON, James Frederick Gladstone WWII James was born in June 1916 in Kisbey, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Wireless Air Gunner and was sent overseas to England in early 1944. On his eleventh raid over Germany, his plane was shot down on November 1, 1944. James is buried in Venray, Holland. WEBB, Alfred John BOERWAR &WWI Alfred was born in 1880 in Berkshire, England. He came to Canada as a young boy. His adventurous life as a soldier started at the age of eighteen when he fought in the Boer War and later in World War I with the Canadian Mounted Rifles. For over three years he fought alongside his fellow Canadians at Vimy Ridge, the Battle Mons, Ypres and Hill 60 where he was promoted to Sergeant. A piece of shrapnel cut the corner off of the New Testament he carried over his heart and entered his lung where it remained. After the war, he homesteaded through the Soldiers Settlement Board. Alfred passed away in 1965.
