He enlisted with the 28th Battalion on February 23, 1917, serving in Canada, France and Britain. He was wounded in action on September 10, 1918, and was discharged on February 12, 1919. He received the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. SANDISON, George WWI George was born in Scotland in 1866. He joined the 5th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force in August 1914, at the age of 48, and served for three years and eight months, during which time he was wounded. George had shrapnel wounds in his right side and his foot. He was declared unfit for further service and signed off for $50.00. He was discharged in April 1919, and received the Mons Star. George joined The Royal Canadian Legion Earl Grey Branch in June 1930. SANDERSON, William Vital WWI William was born in Muskeg Lake Cree Nation on February 4, 1912. He enlisted in the Army on February 23, 1917, serving in Canada, Britain and France. He was discharged on February 12, 1918, and received the British Medal and the Victory Medal. William passed away in 1981.
