LEST WE FORGET 267 RYLAND, Robert William “Bill” WWII Bill was born on May 9, 1920, in Eston, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force on June 16, 1942 as A.E.W. in Saskatoon. He completed his training at St. Thomas in December 1942 he served in Canada and attained the rank of Leading Aircraftsman by April 1, 1943 and was honourably released on March 18, 1946 when he transferred to the Reserve General Section Class “E.” He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and War Medal 1939-1945. He married Rita Rompre on June 16, 1949 and they raised three children. Bill passed away on January 7, 1990. SANDERSON, Francis Xavier WWII Francis was born in Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan, on September 8, 1913. He joined the Saskatoon Light Infantry (MG) on November 15, 1941, serving in Canada. He was discharged on December 2, 1943 and received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-1945. Francis passed away in 1961. SADOWSKY, Walter WWII Walter was born in 1920 in Richard, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Army and served with the C.A.(B) T.C. 120th in Canada until his discharge in 1946. After the war, he returned to the farm in Richard, SK. He retired to North Battleford, SK in 1986. Walter passed away in 1995.
