LEST WE FORGET 241 QUINNELL, Clarence Leonard WWII Clarence was born in Melfort in 1917. He was farming with his family when he enlisted in Saskatoon in late 1941. Trooper Clarence Leonard Quinnell, of Star City, Saskatchewan, was killed in action on August 8, 1944, in Operation Totalize during the push to Falaise and is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery in Calvados, France. He was the son of Charles and Ella Quinnell who came from North Dakota to homestead NE4-44-17-W2 southwest of Star City. Clarence left a wife, Geraldine, and daughter, Marilyn Joan who moved to her home at Battle Heights northeast of Carrot River after he went overseas. RALLS, Leonard Victor RCMP Corporal Leonard Ralls enlisted on September 9, 1914, and served in the RCMP F Division. He passed away on July 5, 1932 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan at the age of 44. He died while trying to intercept escaping thieves near Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. QUINT, David WWI David was born in Perth, New Brunswick, and enlisted with the Army in 1914. After his discharge, he farmed in the Mervin District, got married and moved to New Westminster, BC.
