LEST WE FORGET 231 PIPPENGER, Ralph William WWII Ralph was born on March 6, 1904, in Lewiston, Idaho. He moved to the Bestville District of Saskatchewan with his family in 1911. He joined the 1st Saskatchewan Light Infantry on September 18, 139 in North Battleford, SK. He later transferred to RCOC and then to the RCEME. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe until his discharge on August 17, 1945. Ralph passed away in April 1964. POLONICH, John WWII John was born in 1923 in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Army and served with the 12th Field Regiment RCA in England, France and Holland. He received the 1939-1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, G.B. Defense Medal and Canadian War Medal. John passed away in 1988. PLASKO, Adam WWII Adam was born on March 13, 1919, in Bremen, Saskatchewan. He was enrolled in the Canadian Army as a Private Driver Mechanic on January 11, 1941. Most of his training and time was spent in Dundurn and Montreal. He was discharged on February 19, 1946 and was discharged as a Corporal. In November 1946, Adam, his wife Marion and Marion s brother Joe purchased land near Pierceland, SK with the intention of developing a dairy/mixed farming operation. Adam passed away on February 11, 1964.
