LEST WE FORGET 199 MONTGOMERY, Roy William WWII Roy was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on August 4, 1917. He enlisted in the Army in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on September 7, 1939, and embarked for England on the Aquitania on December 10, 1939. He then embarked for Sicily on June 10, 1943, until May 24, 1945. Private Roy Montgomery served with the Saskatoon Light Infantry and West Nova Scotia Regiment during World War II. He was discharged in Regina on October 19, 1945. He received the 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and 1939-1945 War Medal. Roy passed away on July 15, 1989. MOORE, Thomas Wendell WWII Thomas was born in Saskatchewan in January 1920. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1942, serving in Canada and was discharged in 1945. He came home to farm at Speers, SK, and was active in 4H. He retired in North Battleford, SK, and passed away on November 6, 1996. MOORE, James WWI James was born in Ireland in 1890 and enlisted in the Royal Innes Fusiliers on August 4, 1914, and served in France. While there, James received a gunshot wound to his left ankle and shrapnel wounds to his left hip. He was discharged in March 1917, and received the 1914-15 Star, the General Service Medal and the Victory Medal. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion Earl Grey Branch on June 7, 1930.
