LEST WE FORGET 181 MCCONNELL, Robert L. WWII Robert was born in Davidson, Saskatchewan, in 1923. He joined the Navy as a Signalman and served on the Escort Ship Cobalt and Corvet, sailing the High Seas from 1941-1945. Robert passed away in 2000. McCRIMMON, Malcolm Duncan WWI Malcolm was born in Vankleck Hill, Ontario, on May 24, 1892. He joined the 1st Motor Machine Gun Corps on January 20, 1916, serving on the Western Front and at Vimy Ridge and the battle of Amiens. Malcolm died of wounds in Boulogne, France, on August 15, 1918. By the skillful and bold handling of his gun, he was able to put enemy machine guns out of action, which were in strong positions just north of Le Quesnel. Throughout the ordeal, his conduct was most praiseworthy. He set a splendid example to all in the Battery. McCOY, Keith KOREA Keith was born in Cutknife, Saskatchewan, on October 20, 1929. He enlisted in the Navy in 1947 and served as an electrician on the ship. He was wounded in Korea and was discharged in April 1952. In his civilian life, he was a telephone lineman, and later a pipe fitter in Lloydminster, SK. Keith passed away on January 17, 2005.
