He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Engineers on May 16, 1941, serving in Canada. He was discharged on September 12, 1941, and received the War Medal 1939-1945. He passed away in 1976. LOOKER, John Henry WWII John was born in Midhurst, Sussex, England on August 27, 1918. He enlisted in the Army and served with Platoon #15 CA(B)TC, W.L. West Regina, Regina Rifles, Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders. He was hit by enemy shrapnel and lost some hearing from the bombs and gunshots. John eventually returned home and passed away on August 18, 1997, in Melfort, Saskatchewan. LOOKER, John Edward Thomas WWI John was born in Simcoe, Ontario on March 14, 1874. He enlisted in the Army in Yorkton, Saskatchewan with “A” Squadron/Coy. The enlisting officer was Major W.E. Maxfield. He trained horses in World War I. John was shot, hit with shrapnel and blown out of a trench from being bombed. He was wounded on the Somme in October and returned home. John passed away in June 1962 in Regina, Saskatchewan.
