LEST WE FORGET 157 LEWIS, Joe WWII Joe was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, in 1897. He enlisted in World War I and came back to farm. He moved to Birch Hills in the 1920’s and worked around town at repairs, painting, and doing odd jobs. During World War I, Joe worked at the P.A. Airport. He never married, passed away in 1964, and is buried in the Veteran’s Plot at the Birch Hills Cemetery. LINDSKOG, Ronald Ferdinand PEACETIME Ronald was born in Bagley, Saskatchewan, on December 31, 1936. He joined the Army as an aircraft refinisher, serving in Canada, with his rank of Sergeant. He passed away on October 22, 2005. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Birch Hills Branch 122 for thirty years. LIEBAERT, August Francis WWII Francis was born in Mayfair, Saskatchewan, in October 1919. He joined the Army as a gunner in 1941, serving in Canada. He was discharged in 1944, and returned to farm in the Mayfair area. He passed away on November 22, 1991.
