He joined the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps on November 4, 1941, serving in Canada and Britain. He was discharged on February 13, 1946, and received the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the War Medal 1939-1945. He passed away on July 25, 1981. LENTON, Edwin Claude WWII Edwin Claude was born in 1920 in Canada. The family eventually returned to England. He trained and served as a pilot in the Royal Air Force in the United Kingdom. He married Jean Goodwin (1917-1992) and they had a daughter, Cynthia Gail (1943-2017). Edwin Claude passed away in 1964. LENTON, Edwin Ashley WWI Edwin Ashley was born on October 8, 1886, in Bournemouth, Northamptonshire, England. He was also a pharmaceutical chemist in England. He homesteaded in Saskatchewan in 1911 and joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force in December 1914. He married Mable in England. Their son, Edwin Claude (1920-1964) was born in Canada, possibly Montreal. The family eventually returned to England. Edwin passed away in 1972.
