LEST WE FORGET 123 HUGHES, Albert WWII Albert was born on January 21, 1910 in Wiltshire, England. He joined the Essex Scottish Regiment, R.C.I.C. and served in France and Germany. Albert was killed in action on April 13, 1945 in Holland leaving behind three small children: Valerie, Richard and Percy. Albert is buried in the Holten War Cemetery in Holland. His grandson Kelvin and his wife Karen have visited his grave and witnessed the respect the Dutch people have for our fallen soldiers. HURD, Vincent WWI Vincent Hurd enlisted with the 100th Battalion as a 2nd Corporal. He also served with 107 Battalion CP and 3rd Battalion BE during World War I. HUNT, Leslie William WWII Flight Lieutenant Leslie William Hunt (No. 15 Squadron RAF pilot) of Kinistino was killed in action on July 4, 1943, and is buried at Rheinberg War Cemetery near Duisberg, Germany. Hunt’s Sterling was shot down at Menden during a raid on Cologne. He was the son of Howard Arthur and Ada Louise (Devlin) Hunt who homesteaded SW32-26-4-W3 northeast of Loreburn, moving to a farm near Kinistino in 1933. Leslie was farming with his family when he enlisted in Saskatoon early in 1941. He married Margaret Mavis (Sebre) of Horsell, Surrey, England five weeks before his death.
