HALL, Robert Geoffrey WWII Robert was born in Lashburn, Saskatchewan on June 19, 1919. He enlisted in the Army and served with Unit #13 Canadian Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. He served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was proud to have served his country during World War II, silently torn by the horrors of it all, yet grateful and happy for the freedom of life he lived when it ended. When the big day, D-Day, finally came on June 6, Geoff was there driving his artillery truck. After bobbing around like a cork in the water, he finally got ashore and was able to deliver to his fellow troops. Not everyone who he served with survived this day. Although wounded, he felt very lucky to have made it through. After the war, Geoff married Ileene Scott and raised a wonderful family while farming back near his hometown to Lashburn. He lived the remainder of his life enjoying working with the land and never missed a Remembrance Day service. Robert passed away on January 10, 2007.
