The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 13 In August of 2012, the town of Nipawin, Saskatchewan fufilled the dream of an Air Force Veteran by hosting the first Wounded Warriors Weekend. It was an unprecedented event designed to aid in the healing process and promote awareness of the challenges of PTSD faced by our Wounded Warriors. In the ensuing years, Wounded Warriors Weekend has grown to include Veterans and active duty military personnel, firefighters, RCMP, trauma nurses, correctional officers, police officers, EMTs, first responders and their families. The unparalled success of Wounded Warriors Weekend is a testimony to the determination and dedication of the hundreds of volunteers who help make our Wounded Warriors Weekend a reality every year.
