The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 61 BESSEY, Fred Vernon WWII Fred was born on May 2, 1922 in Bladworth, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Air Force in September 1942 and served in Canada. He left the service on December 20, 1945 as a Leading Aircraftman and in 1946, married Amy Stakiw with whom he had three daughters. Fred was a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362 before he passed away in March 2005 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. BETT, Roy WWII Roy was born on June 11, 1919. He joined the Army in June 1941 and served as a Private with the 18th Manitoba Recce Battalion until his discharge in January 1946. Roy passed away on September 2, 2000. BEVANS, Victor Clinton WWII Victor joined the Army in 1943 and served as a Private with the Canadian Tank Corps. He spent most of his service at Camp Borden in Ontario and was not posted overseas because his injured father was unable to farm their homestead. He was discharged in 1945. Victor passed away in 2000.
