The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 477 WILLIAMSON, Charles WWII Charles was born on November 22, 1920 on a farm near Rocanville, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on April 7, 1942 and served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany in World War II. He was a Leading Airframe mechanic and he transferred to Reserve on February 6, 1946. Charles was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Bar. He returned to the area of Carnoustie where he was born as it was always an important place for him. He farmed and raised four sons there and is buried in the Carnoustie Cemetery. Charles was a member of Rocanville Legion Branch 20 for more than sixty years before he passed away on January 14, 2009. WILLIS, Mervyn Thomas WWI Mervyn was from Carnduff, Saskatchewan. He joined the Canadian Infantry, Saskatchewan Regiment, and served in World War I. Private Willis was killed in action on April 28, 1917 at the age of 24 and is buried at the Vimy Memorial. WILMOT, Glenn Francis WWII Glenn was born in Carnduff, Saskatchewan on June 12, 1921. He joined the Army in 1942 and served in Canada with the 22nd Provost Corps and later the 43rd Company where he remustered to the Armoured Corps. He was rejected for overseas duty and stayed at Camp Borden as an instructor. Glenn was discharged on June 26, 1946. He was a member of Carnduff Legion Branch 216 and a Past President prior to his passing on June 27, 1982. He is buried in the Carnduff Cemetery.
