The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 457 TAGGART, James WWII James was born in Prince Albert in 1911. He joined the Army during World War II and served in France, Belgium, Scotland, Holland and Germany with the Canadian Forestry Corps. He was a member of Prince Albert Legion Branch 2 for ten years before he passed away in 1991. TAYLOR, Franklin Lloyd WWII Franklin was born on January 6, 1920 on the family farm west of Craik. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on December 2, 1941 and trained in Brandon, Manitoba as well as in St. Thomas and Kingston, Ontario. He worked as an Airframe mechanic for Harvard, Tiger Moths and Yale aircraft. Leading aircraftman Taylor volunteered for the Pacific but that conflict ended on August 6, 1945. Frank was honourably discharged on August 22, 1945 and he returned to farming. He also built and repaired violins and married Lois Benson in 1949 with whom he had ten children. In 1958, the family moved into a house he built in Davidson, the place he still called home in 2013 at the age of 93. Franklin has been a member of Davidson Legion Branch 51 for thirty-four years. TAYLOR, William WWII William was born to Harry and Mary Taylor of Nottingham, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Pilot Officer in Europe during World War II. William was killed in action on March 15, 1944 at the age of 23. He is buried in the Hilsenheim Communal Cemetery in France.
