The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 433 SHENLOCK, George Thomas WWII George was born on June 14, 1921 in Harptree, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in early 1943 and completed his training and flight school in Regina and Dauphin, Manitoba. George was stationed in England with Bomber Command 432 Squadron in late 1943. He achieved the rank of Flight Lieutenant and completed his tour of 34 missions over enemy territory on March 25, 1945. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross that year. George was then assigned to Pathfinders Squadron 405. After the war, George and his wife relocated to Davidson where he farmed until his death in 1987. George was a member of Davidson Legion Branch 51 for more than forty years before he passed away. SHIER, Henry Gordon WWII Henry was born in 1923. He enlisted in the Army on January 7, 1944 and served in Canada, the United Kingdom and in Europe as a tank driver and mechanic. Henry received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Leaf Clasp. He was a member of Carnduff Legion Branch 216 prior to his death in 1976. SIEMAN, Irwin Henry KOREA Irwin was born in Rush Lake, Saskatchewan in 1928. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served as a Leading Seaman and Stoker mechanic in Canada and on the high seas on HMCS Antigonish, HMCS Ontario and HMCS Athabaskan. He received the Korea Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Badge. Irwin was a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362 for forty years before he passed away in 2008.
