The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 417 RUSHFORD, Errol WWII Errol was born in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in March 1941 and received his training in Winnipeg and McDonald. He was the first Gull Lake comrade to return home after active service. RUSLING, Albert WWII Albert joined the Army in World War II and served in England, France, Holland, Normandy, Belgium and Germany with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. As a Ham radio operator, Albert helped defend the Bridge of Remagen from the enemy. RUSSELL, Warren WWII Warren was born in Girvin, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force on November 10, 1942 as a wireless air gunner and was released from service on April 15, 1945 because of an ear injury. Warren was a wireless air gunner instructor at Malton, Ontario at the time and trained students in both wireless (aircraft radio) and gunnery. As a result of his training and instruction work, he was stationed at Brandon, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Dafoe and Malton. On May 9, 1945, at the age of 22, Warren was working at the National Grain Elevator in Davidson. He has been a member of Davidson Legion Branch 51 for thirty years.
