The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 409 RODGERS, Jim WWII Jim was born in Raphoe, Northern Ireland in 1914 and came to Canada with his parents, six brothers and one sister in 1924. Another sister was born in Canada. They farmed at Handsworth, Saskatchewan. Jim joined the South Saskatchewan Regiment and served in England and France in World War II. He was captured at Dieppe and spent the rest of the war in at least two POW camps. After returning home, he farmed at Handsworth. He passed away in 1974. RODGERS, Nathan WWII Nathan was born in 1913 in Raphoe, Northern Ireland and came to Canada with his parents, six brothers and one sister in 1924. Another sister was born in Canada. They farmed at Handsworth, Saskatchewan. Nathan joined the Royal Canadian Artillery and served as a Gunner in Europe. He was killed in action on November 3, 1944 in Holland. RODGERS, Robert WWII Robert was born in Raphoe, Northern Ireland in 1918 and came to Canada with his parents, six brothers and one sister in 1924. Another sister was born in Canada. They farmed at Handsworth, Saskatchewan. He joined the Army and served in Canada with Home Defence in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After the war, Robert farmed at Handsworth then moved to Valley View, Alberta where he set up a homestead there. Robert passed away in 1983.
