The Royal Canadian Legion Saskatchewan Command LEST WE FORGET 381 OLD, Noble Otto “Ted” WWII Ted was born on September 1917 to a large farm family in Davidson, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in November 1941 and trained in Regina and Ontario. Ted served in England, Scotland, Belgium, Holland, France and Germany as a mechanical engineer, mainly working on tanks. He was awarded the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the War Medal 1939-45, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Silver Bar and the Defence Medal. In October 1945, Ted was discharged and returned to Davidson where he started a trucking business. In 1948, he married Caroline George whom he had been courting before the war years. He was a member of Davidson Legion Branch 51 for more than thirty years before he passed away in 2002. OLEKSYN, J. PEACETIME J. Oleksyn was born on June 30, 1931. He enlisted in the Army in June 1948 and served as a Private with the Army Reserves until leaving the service in June 1954. He married and became a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362. OLSON, J. A. PEACETIME J. A. Olson was born on March 10, 1954 in Saskatoon. He enlisted in the Army in September 1969 and served with the North Saskatchewan Regiment in Canada until he left the service in October 1974 as Sergeant. He married and has been a member of Nutana Legion Branch 362.
